Una sfarzosa cerimonia di inaugurazione, alla presenza delle più alte autorità del Golfo e del mondo arabo mediorientale, ha aperto al mondo il Burj Dubai, la torre-grattacielo più alta del mondo, 818 metri per 160 piani che dominano la skyline delle seconda città degli Emirati.

Il 18 marzo prossimo aprirà ufficialmente i battenti anche il primo Armani Hotel.

Lo sfarzo della cerimonia è probabilmente dovuto anche a scacciare questo difficile periodo per Dubai, da sempre considerata una la nuova El Dorado ed oggi bersaglio di titoli negativi sui giornali economici mondiali; un modo di ostentare il sogno dorato del Medioriente, un sogno che – pare – non è affatto svanito.

Evoluzione del Burj Dubai

Il costruttore del Burj Dubai è l’Emaar Properties.

Yes.. you understood well: last frontier of  technology & extravagant building gave us the first underwater hotel at the world..

We are talking about Hydropolis Undersea Resort, whose location can take our breath away.. as big as London’s Hyde Park and costed 490 mil  USD.

To reach Hydropolis Undersea Resort you have to take a shuttle starting from Jumeirah Beach; the shuttle carries the guests from dry land to the great lobby, through a 515-meters-long underwater tunnel. You can just see a first advantage… no taxi queue to go out in the evening..!

Hydropolis Undersea Resort has two domes: one is a concert auditorium, the other one a ball-room with a reactable roof, allowing guests to enjoy Dubai, its coast and its skyline.

This building confirm the passion of Dubai for aquarium, as just written in other posts in this blog.

At the Hydropolis Underwater Resort there are 220 available suite, made with plexiglass bubble, allowing guests to admire submarine panorama.  One night at Hydropolis Undersea Resort will cost more or less $ 5.500.. we can still talk about crisis?

Si avete letto bene. L’ultima frontiera della tecnologia applicata alla costruzione, ci ha regalato un hotel costruito interamente sott’acqua.

Stiamo parlando dell’Hydropolis Undersea Resort, un hotel la cui location lascia senza fiato (è il caso di dirlo), grande quasi quanto l’Hyde Park di Londra e costato 490 milioni di USD.

Per raggiungere l’Hydropolis Undersea Resort si prende uno shuttle da Jumeirah Beach, che dopo aver percorso i 515 metri del tunnel sottomarino, ci condurrà nella grande lobby dell’hotel. Già si intravede un vantaggio.. non ci sarà nessuna fila per prendere il taxi.

Due grandi cupole caratterizzano l’Hydropolis Undersea Resort: una ospita l’auditorium, l’altra una sala da ballo coperta da un tetto retrattile, che consentirà agli ospiti di godere di eventi all’aria aperta, con lo sfondo di Dubai, della sua costa e della sua skyline.

La costruzione di questo hotel conferma la passione di Dubai per gli acquari, così come già descritto in un altro articolo di questo blog.

I clienti potranno scegliere tra le 220 suite disponibili, tutte costituite da una bolla di plexiglass che consentono la visione del mare che circonda la struttura. Una notte in una delle suite dell’Hydropolis Undersea Resort costerà approssimativamente € 4.000.. c’è ancora chi parla di crisi?
