The 2010 Formula One season is the 61st Formula One season. The season’s first race was held on March 14 in Bahrain, whereas the last race will be held in Abu Dhabi, Yas Marina Circuit, both of them in the GCC, very close to Dubai.

Driven by desire to push into new markets — primarily in the Middle East — the sport is witnessing a boom in track construction and investment. The greatest spending spree has been in the Middle East, where an estimated $11.3 billion has been spent on motor sports in the past five years.

The Costa Deliziosa, which was built in Italy by Fincantieri and delivered in Venice on January 30 this year, set sail from Savona on February 5 on her Grand Inaugural Cruise taking her – across the Mediterranean, Suez Canal, Red Sea and Arabian Gulf – to Dubai, where she will making a stopover from February 23 through 26.

Gli Emirati Arabi Uniti (al-Imārāt al-‘Arabiyya al-Muttahida) sono uno stato ricco di petrolio situato nel sud-est della penisola araba, nell’Asia sud-occidentale, e composto da sette emirati: Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujaira, Ras al-Khaima, Sharja e Umm al-Qaywayn. Prima del 1971, erano noti come gli Stati della tregua (Trucial States), con riferimento ad una tregua imposta nel XIX secolo dai britannici ad alcuni sceicchi arabi che non contrastavano, e anzi foraggiavano, attività piratesche miranti a colpire il naviglio transitante nel tratto di mare di loro competenza.

Tra gli sport da spiaggia arriva, direttamente dal deserto di Dubai, il sandboarding: ovvero come domare (dopo le onde e le ripide discese innevate) dune di sabbia.
Si chiama Sandboarding ed è il surf da duna, ideale per il deserto, le zone aride e le spiagge senza vento. Per praticare il sandboarding si necessita di una tavola analoga a quella da neve (snowboard).
Ovviamente si consiglia di non indossare la tuta termica da neve per ovvi motivi…

Ajman (in arabo: عجمان, traslitterato anche ‘Ağmān o ‘Uğmān) è il più piccolo stato membro dei 7 Emirati che formano gli Emirati Arabi Uniti. La superficie dell’emirato è di 250 km² e la capitale è l’omonima città di Ajmān. Situata sul bordo del Golfo Persico, a nord di Dubai e a soli 20 km dal Dubai International Airport, ad Ajman appartengono due zone agricole esterne ai confini dell’emirato: Masfut (a 110 km a SE) e Manama (60 km a E).
Lo sviluppo ancora tutto da definire di Ajman, fa di questo territorio una vera e propria terra di opportunità. I costi sono davvero molto bassi, sia per l’acquisto di immobili, sia per altro tipo di investimenti. Considerando inoltre la vicinanza tra le città principali dei due emirati (solo 35 km) non è da escludere la possibilità di avere casa ad Ajman ed ufficio a Dubai, o direttamente entrambi ad Ajman; molti investitori sono stati incoraggiati a spostare l’attenzione su Ajman proprio a causa dei prezzi bassi.
Ajman è stato il primo Emirato ad offrire il 100% del diritto di proprietà ai cittadini stranieri già dal 2004.

Il Sufismo o Tasawwuf (arabo: تصوّف – taṣawwuf) è la forma di ricerca mistica (da “Mysticos”, cioè “pertinente l’iniziazione”) tipica della cultura islamica.

Il sufismo viene a volte definito come l’unione antica del cristianesimo e del neoplatonismo, che diede vita ad una forma di ricerca interiore, il misticismo dell’Islam.

Il sufismo è la scienza della conoscenza diretta di Dio; le sue dottrine e i suoi metodi sono derivati dal Corano, anche se il sufismo utilizza concetti derivati da fonti tanto greche come persiane antiche e indù. Quindi, malgrado le idee prese in prestito da culture e religioni precedenti, si può affermare che l’essenza del sufismo sia prettamente islamica.

Una forte traccia Sufi a Dubai, è rimasta in campo artistico, grazie al senegalese Amadou Kan-Si, i cui ritratti catturano momenti di spiritualità e di raccolta.

Hajj or pilgrimage to Mecca is one of the five pillars of Islam. Hajj was made obligatory in the 9th year of Hijra. The Holy Prophet sent off 300 Muslims under the leadership of Hazrat Abubakr Siddique (may Allah be pleased with him) to Mecca so that they could perform Hajj. That was the year when it was banned for the Mushrikeen (those who associate partners with Allah) to enter Ka’ba. It was also made unlawful to perform Tawaaf (circling of Ka’ba) with naked body.

The following year, 10th Hijra, the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) announced a head of time he himself would perform Hajj that year. He led tens of thousands of Muslims to Hajj that year and demonstrated to Muslims how to perform all the rites and rituals of the Hajj. This Hajj is known in history as Hajjatul Wida’ or Farewell Pilgrimage because this proved to be the last Hajj the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) performed. At the end of this farewell pilgrimage, the divine revelation that had started some 22 years ago came to an end with the following verse of Surah Al-Maidah:

“This day have I completed My commandments for you, and have brought to its fullness the favor that I have bestowed upon you, and have chosen Islam as your religion”
