On the September, 10th 2010, for the Muslims is Eid ul-Fitr or Id-ul-Fitr (in Arabic: عيد الفطر ‘Īdu l-Fiṭr‎), often abbreviated to Eid, is a Muslim holiday that marks the end of the Holy month of Ramadan (started on August, 11th), coincident with first day of the Islamic month of Shawwal. Eid is an Arabic word meaning “festivity”, while Fiṭr means “to break the fast” festivity symbolising the breaking of the fasting period. Eid ul-Fitr: la fine del Ramadan

Domani, il mondo islamico festeggia il giorno del Eid ul-Fitr o Id-ul-Fitr (in Arabo: عيد الفطر ‘Īdu l-Fiṭr‎), spesso abbreviato in Eid, la festa islamica che segna la fine del Sacro mese di Ramadan e quindi del digiuno, coincidente con il primo giorno del mese Shawwal del calendario islamico. Eid in arabo significa “festività”, Fiṭr “rompere il digiuno”: questa festività simboleggia quindi proprio la fine del periodo di digiuno. I musulmani completano il periodo di digiuno previsto dal Ramadan, e sono tenuti a recitare la preghiera Takbir durante i 3 giorni di celebrazione previsti dall’Eid ul-Fitr. Today the Ramadan 2009 starts (actually in Lybia and Turkey the Ramadan starts one day before, according to a different interpretation of Holy Qur’an (Arabic: القرآن‎ al-qur’ān, literally “the recitation”; also sometimes transliterated as Quran, Qur’ān, Koran, Alcoran or Al-Qur’ān). The first Ramadan in a Muslim country, for a foreign visitor or expat (also with a different religious credo), is unique experience, amazing and at the same time contrasting, for what you can feel. Oggi 22 agosto è cominciato il Ramadan 2009, il mese sacro per la comunità musulmana (in realtà sulla data di inizio del Ramadan c’è una discussione in atto, che la fa oscillare di un giorno: per Libia e Turchia, infatti, comincia un giorno prima) . Il primo Ramadan in un Paese musulmano, per un visitatore appartenente ad un altro credo religioso, è sempre un’esperienza irripetibile, affascinante e al tempo stesso molto contrastante, per le sensazioni che lascia. Da un lato vedere locali che hanno l’obbligo di non bere, non mangiare, non fumare..
