DUBAI CITY TOUR
Our tour takes you to the mystical past from the glorious present. This route starts with A stop at the magnificent Jumeirah Mosque proceeding towards a drive through the Jumeirah beach and all its spectacular hotels for a photo shoot.
The trip continues to the Sheikh Zayed road where we watch the sparkling science-fiction skyscrapers standing alongside the Dubai World Trade Center. En route we pass by the majestic Sheikh Palace followed by a short break by the Creek. The journey then continues towards the Bastakiya area in Bur Dubai, where we stop for a while to admire the old wind-tower houses built by wealthy Merchants.
Close by, stands the ancient Al Fahidi Fort, now housing the Dubai Museum that records the city’s past as an important pearl diving and trading centre. The journey ends with a ride by the authentic Abra – a local of Dubai where we explore the magical aroma of the Spice Souk and the dazzle of the Gold Souk leaving us mesmerized.

ABU DHABI CITY TOUR
It is hard to believe that just 50 years ago, Abu Dhabi the island capital of the United Arab Emirates was a bleak fishing and pearling village. The evolution of Abu Dhabi has been spectacular. Today, it has large gardens, green boulevards, sophisticated high-rise buildings, rich shopping malls, cultural centers and events that offer one-of-a-kind experience all the year round. En route to Abu Dhabi is the humungous Jebel Ali Port, the largest man-made port in the world. Driving through the bridge we pass by Abu Dhabi’s magnificent new mosque, which is nearing completion and is also widely believed to be one of the biggest mosque in the world. On arrival in Abu Dhabi we visit the renovated AL HUSN PALACE now home of the Centre for Documentation and Research. We then learn about the oil the so-called ‘black gold’ – and how it has transformed Abu Dhabi into the wealthy city of today. The journey then continues towards a drive along the beautiful Corniche gives a magnificent view of the city.
Later, the tour passes the majestic president’s palace, then to the Dhow Yard, where wooden ships are still built using simple tools and lastly the Women Handicraft Centre where we admire the skill and dexterity of local ladies.

AL AIN CIT TOUR
Dramatically situated against the mountain backdrop of the 1300-metre-high Jebel Hafit, for years Al Ain has been an important stop on the caravan trail. The adventure starts  with stop at the nation’s largest museum located within the walls of Al Jahili Fort, which fabulously exhibits the magnificent archaeological excavations from Jebel Hafeet.
The next stop is the quaint and busy camel market also considered as the largest camel market in the Middle East. Our journey then continues to the nearby Buraimi Oasis in the Omani territory where we observe the 2,000- year-old irrigation system feeding the date gardens. Appetizing lunch will be served high above the city on your own expencess, in the five star mountain hotel of Jebel Hafeet where we enjoy a spectacular view over the whole Al Ain area.
Subsequently we drive back to Dubai.

SHARJAH & AJMAN CITY TOUR
Tour of Islamic history and culture. One of the major attractions to photographers is the distinctive King Faisal Mosque built to honor King Faisal of Saudi Arabia that currently  is the largest mosque in the Emirates. En route we continue towards the renovated Fort of Sharjah, former residence of the ruling family originally built in 1820, followed by the  authentic 150-year-old ‘Al Nabooddah House’, the museum for cultural heritage. Exploring the myriad images of Arabia, we take a quick stroll to the adjacent souks` of ‘Al Arsa’ and  to the ‘Majarrah Souk’ will take you to our next venue which is the distinguished Souk ‘Al Markazi’ – a treasure trove of Persian carpets, souvenirs, jewellery and handicrafts.
Just 15 minutes drive from the northeast of Sharjah is the Emirate of Ajman – A small Emirate with a lovely stretch of white sandy beach. We then make our way towards the famous historical fort and the museum which brilliantly displays the Emirates past before the discovery of oil. Our journey takes us to the Dhow-building yard where the Dhows  (traditional boats) are still hand made.
This concludes our tour before heading back to Dubai.

EAST COST TOUR
The road to the northern emirates of uae is one of the most scenically spectacular in the Emirates; you emerge from the magnificent sand dunes of the central region to be met by the grand Hajar Mountains at the town of Dhaid. Our first stop is the Friday market that was originally established for Fridays but is now open everyday. Proceeding onwards we move towards the14th century Bithna Fort followed by a lovely drive towards the pictures que emirate of Fujairah. We then head towards one of the beach hotels for a lunch.
After lunch we proceed to the scenic fishing village of Dibbah. The mountain village of Khassab is the next “Must-See” on this tour, where the friendly Shihu Tribe still lives in houses built of rock. We then cross the Musandam Peninsula, which belongs to the Oman, on rough tracks through the narrow gorges up to a height of nearly 1200 meters. From there, you will have an astonishing view of fascinating cliffs and deep canyons.
Afterwards we head back to Dubai with a drive through the Emirates of Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Ajman and Sharjah.

Gli Emirati Arabi Uniti (al-Imārāt al-‘Arabiyya al-Muttahida) sono uno stato ricco di petrolio situato nel sud-est della penisola araba, nell’Asia sud-occidentale, e composto da sette emirati: Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujaira, Ras al-Khaima, Sharja e Umm al-Qaywayn. Prima del 1971, erano noti come gli Stati della tregua (Trucial States), con riferimento ad una tregua imposta nel XIX secolo dai britannici ad alcuni sceicchi arabi che non contrastavano, e anzi foraggiavano, attività piratesche miranti a colpire il naviglio transitante nel tratto di mare di loro competenza.

Abu Dhabi o, più correttamente, Abu Ẓaby (arabo: أبوظبي, Abū Ẓabī, letteralmente “Padre della gazzella”), è il più grande dei sette emirati che compongono dal 1971 gli Emirati Arabi Uniti, nel sud-est del Golfo Persico. Abu Dhabi è anche il nome della città capitale dell’emirato e degli Emirati Arabi Uniti.

Ajman (arabo: عجمان, traslitterato anche ‘Ağmān o ‘Uğmān, letteralmente “Non arabo” con riferimento alla presenza di un forte insediamento di persone provenienti dal vicino Iran) è il più piccolo stato membro degli Emirati Arabi Uniti. Ha una superficie di 250 km²[1] e la capitale è la città di Ajmān. Situata sul bordo del Golfo Persico comprende due enclaves agricole nell’interno del paese: Masfut (a 110 km a SE) e Manama (60 km a E). Da molti è considerata una Dubai low cost, dati i bassissimi costi immobiliari e la distanza non eccessiva dall’Emirato di Dubai.

Dubai (arabo: دبيّ, Dubaī, clicca qui per l’etimologia della parola) indica al contempo uno dei sette emirati che compongono gli Emirati Arabi Uniti, e la città più importante del medesimo emirato (che, in lingua inglese, viene anche indicata come Dubay City e che in arabo è invece Madīnat Dubaī ).Dopo la morte, avvenuta in Australia il 4 gennaio 2006, dello Shaykh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum (che rivestiva pure le cariche di vice presidente e primo ministro degli Emirati Arabi Uniti), è diventato emiro di Dubai uno dei suoi fratelli minori, lo shaykh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Dubai è, dopo Abu Dhabi, il secondo emirato del paese. La popolazione è stimata in 1.370.714 abitanti (2006).

Fujairah (arabo: لفجيرة, al-Fujayra) è uno dei sette emirati che compongono gli Emirati Arabi Uniti. In particolare è l’unico che si affaccia solamente sul golfo di Oman e quindi sull’Oceano Indiano. La sua posizione strategica favorisce molto il turismo balneare locale e le immersioni; è raggiungibile in auto da Dubai in un paio d’ore di auto.

Ras al-Khaimah (arabo: رأس الخيمة, Raʾs al-Khayma, letteralmente “La cima della tenda”) è uno dei sette emirati che compongono gli Emirati Arabi Uniti. Si affaccia sul Golfo Persico ed è vicino all’emirato di Umm al-Quwain. Grazie ad una politica favorevole all’ingresso di capitali stranieri e di bassa tassazione, Ras al-Khaimah sta vedendo crescere il numero di aziende straniere e branch insediate all’interno del proprio territorio.

Sharjah (arabo: الشارقة , al-Sharja) è uno dei sette emirati che compongono gli Emirati Arabi Uniti, compreso tra Umm al-Qaywayn e Dubai. L’emirato si estende per circa sedici chilometri sulla costa del Golfo Persico e per più di ottanta chilometri nell’entroterra. La popolazione è stimata in 639.298 abitanti, per lo più residenti stranieri (expats) che lavorano poi nel vicino Emirato di Dubai.

Umm al-Quwain (arabo: أمّ القيوين, letteralmente “Madre dei due poteri”) è uno dei sette emirati che compongono gli Emirati Arabi Uniti, compreso tra l’emirato di Ras al-Khaimah e quello di Sharjah. Si affaccia sul Golfo Persico. è il meno popolato dei 7 emirati (poco più di 60,000 abitanti censiti) e sicuramente il meno considerato per investimenti.

Ajman (in arabo: عجمان, traslitterato anche ‘Ağmān o ‘Uğmān) è il più piccolo stato membro dei 7 Emirati che formano gli Emirati Arabi Uniti. La superficie dell’emirato è di 250 km² e la capitale è l’omonima città di Ajmān. Situata sul bordo del Golfo Persico, a nord di Dubai e a soli 20 km dal Dubai International Airport, ad Ajman appartengono due zone agricole esterne ai confini dell’emirato: Masfut (a 110 km a SE) e Manama (60 km a E).
La principale attività economica è infatti l’agricoltura, con le colture di datteri, oltre la pesca e la recente attività industriale.
La sua popolazione è di circa 135.000 abitanti (raddoppiata rispetto ai primi anni novanta), principalmente raggruppati nella capitale omonima. La popolazione ha conosciuto una forte crescita dovuta all’immigrazione proveniente dagli altri emirati di Dubai e di Sharjah (arabo Shāriqa).

Suo sovrano attuale è l’emiro Shaykh Humayd bin Rāshid al-Nu‘aymī. Il principe ereditario è Shaykh ‘Ammār bin Humayd al-Nu‘aymī.

Lo sviluppo ancora tutto da definire di Ajman, fa di questo territorio una vera e propria terra di opportunità. I costi sono davvero molto bassi, sia per l’acquisto di immobili, sia per altro tipo di investimenti. Considerando inoltre la vicinanza tra le città principali dei due emirati (solo 35 km) non è da escludere la possibilità di avere casa ad Ajman ed ufficio a Dubai, o direttamente entrambi ad Ajman; molti investitori sono stati incoraggiati a spostare l’attenzione su Ajman proprio a causa dei prezzi bassi.
Ajman è stato il primo Emirato ad offrire il 100% del diritto di proprietà ai cittadini stranieri già dal 2004.
Questo è uno dei motivi per cui Ajman è considerata una “Dubai Low Cost” o “Cheap” (in inglese: economico/a), una porta di ingresso “economica” appunto per entrare negli Emirati Arabi Uniti.
Ajman è una Free Zone, che consente la costituzione di società per il 100% di proprietà estera, e i suoi benefici fiscali, hanno attirato molte attività industriali nell’Emirato.

La recente crisi che ha colpito Dubai ha fatto sentire un contraccolpo anche nella vicina Ajman, che è sempre stata un po’ al traino di Dubai. Prima di avviare investimenti, quindi, si consiglia di verificare con attenzione quello che si sta facendo!

La capitale dell’emirato è la città di Sharjah (stesso nome dell’emirato) che conta circa 520.000 abitanti (pari a circa l’80% della popolazione dell’intero Emirato – stima 2003). La città di Sharjah si configura come città per lo più residenziale, dove abitano molti lavoratori dei ceti medi, grazie alla posizione strategica rispetto a Dubai. Sono poco più di 20 i km che separano il centro di Sharjah da Dubai, sebbene il gran numero di pendolari che si spostano la mattina verso Dubai e la sera ritornano a casa, generino un consistente traffico, come si evince dalla foto seguente, tratta da TravelBlog.

Nella serie di immagini sopra riportata e tratta da TravelBlog, si vede anche uno splendido tramonto di Sharjah e una scena di un inusuale  allagamento dovuto alle incredibili pioggie. Vedi anche: Cambiamenti climatici nel Golfo.

Per chi atterra a Dubai ed è abituato al lusso e allo sfarzo della città emiratina, si renderà subito conto di trovarsi in un’altra realtà. Prezzi più bassi nei negozi, macchine “normali”, alcol & night praticamente introvabili… insommma se dovessimo dare una descrizione di una città musulmana, sarebbe sicuramente più Sharjah che non Dubai.

La stessa fiera di Sharjah si riduce a quattro piccoli padiglioni, raccolti in un’unica struttura, rispetto al grande Dubai World Trade Center (che a breve sarà soppiantato dalla nuova fiera ancora più grande).

L’aeroporto di Sharjah è uno dei più frequentati tra quelli negli Emirati Arabi Uniti, soprattutto in estate (quando i locali si muovono per andare in vacanza e fuggire dal caldo). Le compagnie low cost utilizzano questo aeroporto per voli nazionali, internazionali e intercontinentali: Air Arabia è la compagnia maggiormente presente all’aeroporto di Sharjah.
