Dubai (UAE): As The Race to Dubai gathers pace towards the grand finale at the Dubai World Championship presented by DP World, the event’s Official Courier is on course to deliver on its commitment to golf in the UAE.
A strong supporter of the sport in the emirates, TNT has signed up as a partner to the $7.5 million tournament in a move which completes the company’s position at various levels of UAE golf.
“TNT’s support of the sport in the UAE is well established,” said Bryan Moulds, Managing Director – TNT Middle East. “For a number of years we’ve been involved at grass roots level by running an Order of Merit tournament for amateurs, while we also have a close cooperation with the UAE PGA where we sponsor events for UAE pros.
“At the top level, we are now proud to be an associate sponsor of the Dubai World Championship which captures the imagination of the players, press and public alike.”
To be staged from November 25-28 at the Earth Course, Jumeirah Golf Estates, the second Dubai World Championship will see the top 60 players on The European Tour fight it out for four days with defending champion and World Number One Lee Westwood determined to retain his crown.
“Last year’s tournament was a fantastic showcase of international talent in one of the most iconic cities in the world,” added Moulds, whose company are directly involved in moving all time-sensitive documents and parcels from the organisers to VIPs, players, sponsors and the general public and will be sponsoring the additional Live Closed Circuit Television coverage to be shown on the first hole from the moment the first tee shot is struck until noon on each of the four days’ play.
With even greater commercial support in 2010, the Dubai World Championship is expected to build on the overwhelming success of 2009 when some 60,000 spectators took advantage of the offer of free tickets.
Once again event organisers are inviting the golfing public to take advantage of complimentary entry to the richest event of the year by visiting the official website at www.dubaiworldchampionship.com, while tickets can also be obtained at branches of MMI, Costa and all Dubai golf clubs.
In addition to DP World – Presenting Sponsor for the second year in succession – and TNT, the Dubai World Championship is supported by Premium Partners Rolex, Emirates, and BMW; Sponsors Atlantis, CNN, The National and Polo/Ralph Lauren; and Event Supporters Dubai Duty Free, MMI and Toshiba.
